This is the first track, the opening 15-minute transmission from the Lama about the importance and meaning of this mantra and its significance. The “Om Mani Padme Hum” recording begins with Lama Tashi’s teachings about this chant. It is now our great pleasure to share it with each of you! In particular, the evening chant on Tuesday, J“Om Mani Padme Hum”-the chant to the Buddha of Compassion as well as Lama Tashi’s introduction to this chant, were especially memorable moments. Somehow, out of all the remarkable events at the Intensive, this particular evening was actually professionally recorded. I know our deep resonance with Lama Tashi was also shared by all those present as well. It was a true highlight of the Intensive and we are so very grateful. This special group chant was recorded during a live group chant ritual at the 2014 Healing Sounds Intensive. One of the many blessings from that year’s event was the appearance of our beloved Tibetan adopted son Lama Tashi, whom we had not seen in so many years.

About the Free Om Mani Padme Hum Group Chant Download This mantra may ultimately be among the most important that can be used to resonate our planet and all the sentient beings upon it at this moment in time and space. Regardless of how you define compassion, continued chanting (and listening to) the mantra of “Om Mani Padme Hum” can lead to nothing less than evolution of body, mind and spirit. But we ask that you spend a moment meditating on this word and it’s meaning before you begin listening to the mantra. In the following recording you can hear Chant Master Lama Tashi (Grammy nominee for “ Tibetan Master Chants”) expound upon the subject from his perspective. The gamut of what is compassion runs as wide and deep as the aspect of defining other any extraordinary word. What is compassion to you? To many, it’s kindness. What is compassion? That is usually the first question I ask in a workshop before we begin the actual recitation of “Om Mani Padme Hum”. And indeed, when people chant or listen to this mantra, they seem to have the element of compassion manifest within them. But most powerfully, it is a mantra used to generate compassion. “Om Mani Padme Hum”, is a mantra that is used for protection, healing and many other positive attributes including communication with higher realms of consciousness. However, there are literally books such as “Creative Visualization and Multi-Dimensional Consciousness”, written by Lama Govinda and dedicated to the subtleties of meaning and teachings behind this extraordinary chant. I like to perceive of the lotus as meaning the heart chakra-and the jewel, being the energy of compassion. The meaning of this mantra is often translated as “The jewel in the center of the lotus”. “Om Mani Padme Hum” has always been one of my favorites and in many different workshops throughout the years (as well as a number of different recordings), I have worked with this chant. Avalokitesvara is gifted with complete enlightenment and said to reject no plea made to him by individuals in distress. This is the six syllabled mantra honors and invokes Avalokitesvara, (Chenrezig in Tibetan) the Bodhisattva of Compassion. Other than the “Om”, probably the most popular mantra of the East is “Om Mani Padme Hum” (“Om Mani Peme Hung” in Tibetan).
